Let-down

Category: Life

I gather they’re re-airing the TAL episode, as I’m getting lots of new readers.

Wow, you people must be pretty fucking let-down. I’m sorry about that, on many levels.

    You’re anything but a let-down, Mike.

I must like this @&#$!! Dune-hatin’ blog because I am typing this for the third time after my comments being eaten twice by yer freakin’ lithium…but get crackin’. There’s not nearly enuf Dune hatin’ going on. You’ve got another 20 books to cover, not to mention a Romanian only installment.

Seriously, though, I was planning on asking you to guest blog on my blog next time I disappear down the rabbit hole to write. So I must like your blog…which I visit every couple of days. Wouldn’t do that TAL or no TAL (sounds like some kind of super computer) if it wasn’t interesting. – Jeff VanderMushroom

Hey, I think the whole Goth thing comes through pretty clearly in the TAL.

  4. michael December 25th, 2008 1:01 am

Yeah, but I was really happy and optimistic.

Jeff, I’d love to guest for you. I’m also glad you appreciate the Dune hate.

don’t you think it’s time to stop the pity party? and be thankful for what you DO have? you are pretty one note these days.

teresa, you’re more than welcome to quit reading if I’m not courageous or inspirational enough for you.

When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.

Hey, I’m a regular reader and I just thought I should put in writing that the reason I read has nothing to do with your courage. My husband gets the “your such an inspiration” bullshit all the time too… just for living… so yeah I don’t buy into it. I read because I really enjoy what you have to say, and how you tell your stories.
In fact, my husband is getting a tattoo that addresses how he feels about such comments. [“Big damn hero”]

Mike, you’ve made it quite clear that you don’t want “comments with inspirational quotes and what-not”. This kind of puts us readers/commentors between a rock and hard place, don’tcha think?

Damn the kittens because I’m going to say what I would say to anyone who was being down right before their birthday.

Michael – you miss the point…it’s time to take the bull by the horns and fight him all the way instead of just standing there and letting him impale you repeatedly and willingly. You give in to the dark side soooo easily. We all have a dark side and dark thoughts. Honesty can be healing, but fighting the darkness takes a real choice and courage if you really want it. Happy Christmas!

I can’t remember if I’ve already said this or not, but I saw you on TAL when it first aired and found you intriguing. not for your inspirational quality. I’m actually kind of bored by inspirational stories. I think I was just fascinated by how outrageously different your life is from mine, but how surprisingly similar other parts of it are. I also thought you were funny.

But I was looking up your story randomly on their website, and found a link to your blog. That is why I’m here.

Anyway, dude, just be whoever you are. As a fellow human being, I want you to be satisfied with your life, but you don’t have to be happy or strong or together for the people watching you.

    and Merry Kitty Christmas.

teresa, how do you know that I got to this place easily, and how can you possibly know that I go willingly? I don’t pretend to know you, but you sure seem to know me really well.

I have to second Jennifer – I was underwhelmed by the beginning of the TAL episode expecting a stereotypical “inspirational” story, but the reason I sought out more info on you (and wound up here) was that I found you “compelling”, which I think is very different.

When I’m going through a hard time, the last thing I want to hear is people telling me what I should be doing or how I should be feeling. On the other hand, there’s something to be said for being reminded to look at the bigger picture. Ultimately it’s in your hands, what you want to seek out for yourself and how you want to get there.

Anyway, on that note, Merry Christmas, Mike.

Mike I do not pretend to know what you think, but it’s clear that you focus on the negative the majority of the time which in turn fortifies and feeds the darkness and despair…that would be the truth for anyone who is depressed.

Theresa, I just drowned a basket of kittens on Micheal’s behalf.

Much like the last basket of kittens, they went willingly after saying a quick prayer. They felt especially confident in Kitty Jesus after attending the first Kitty Church of Jesus yesterday.

  17. michael December 27th, 2008 1:34 am

    Ziztur, Kitty Jesus loves you.

Dude, you give me hope. I wish I was half as outgoing as you are. You make me realize I can make things happen if I want them to happen.
