I’m getting published!

Category: Life

I may be depressed as all Hell, I may day-dream about bleeding out, but I do have some good news. I’m getting a piece of my flash fiction published in the poetry section of Weird Tales Magazine! It’s the first thing I’ve ever submitted to a magazine, so I’m pretty excited, and definitely surprised.

Happiness, loss, depression, anything can be good for writing if you let it.

    Tap That

Few instances of Lightening in a bottle feel or appear that way at first……

“so I’m pretty excited, and definitely surprised.”

    Congrats!

I wanted to say, this sentence says so much, “I may be depressed as all Hell, I may day-dream about bleeding out, but I do have some good news.”

I’ve read a lot writing/literature often featuring depression, Sylvia Plath, etc & I’ve never seen anything like this sentence – original.

Arguably the only thing that is good for writing. Congrats. May the door fly open in the middle of a word sucking tornado hungry for more.

Dude, I can dig your ‘surprised’ feeling. Sometimes the greatest things we write get ripped, other stuff we just toss out gets published. The one thing you’ve exhibited in the 10 years I’ve known you is persistence, which is the hallmark of a great writer.

And Weird Tales? To me, they’re in the top five of speculative fiction — in my mind, there’s Asimov’s, Analog, F&SF and Weird Tales. This is akin to writing a screenplay/pilot and getting it on a major network!
