Manicures

Category: Life

So, today I went for a manicure. I see these tiny Asian ladies who don’t speak a lick of English, but they smile and nod a lot. I’m getting a fresh trache on Friday, so I didn’t want to go in with hideous nails…

It’s a small indulgence, but it’s oddly important. See, whenever my nails go bad it almost certainly means that life has gone bad, I’m either really sick, or astonishingly depressed. I’m often depressed these days, but not so much that I don’t care about the little things that make me, well, me.

Do you have any such gauges, little things that mean you’re still yourself?

Not exactly, but if I don’t have my evening whiskey & Coke I’m usually sick. Does that count?

you have beautiful hands and very long elegant fingers
if my house is a total mess, i am in my head as well.
even though i am not a neat freak
there is some order in the disorder

I’m afraid I’ll get in an accident, have an aneurysm, etc., that will involve my clothes being cut away by paramedics in front of a gaping crowd, revealing Sasquatch-esque legs and er…um…upper legs.

A full month’s salary doesn’t seem like a lot to spend on laser hair removal for the peace of mind it brings, do you think?

Wow… I painted mine today as well (meaning Satans making snow angels). Yours look 50x better though. =)

    Jaelyn: Why, thank you.

Kitty: Not if it keeps you sane!

Laura: I’m sure your nails are lovely.

Yes, if I stop putting lotion on after my shower and quit blow drying and straightening my hair then You know I’m aick or depressed.
