They can’t win

Category: Life

If I don’t wake up and get back to being my old easy-going, intelligently optimistic, delightfully melancholy self, Sara and the terrorists win. Losing isn’t my way. so it’s time to wise up, as Aimee Mann once wrote.

Does anybody really end up winning anyways?

…..except for lotto winners. They definitely win.

I hate those comments, sorry DQM, but really, a voice of refreshing tude, then nobody wins? come on.

Michael, Rock On Brotha. I’ve been thinking doing the same since a recent funk, and my internal compass is directed only by my positive thoughts, so, again, Rock On. That’s definately a great way to think and go about it.

Yes people do win ALL the time – everyday in everyway. But if some people choose to be losers and throw perpetual pity parties. No fun, no life, no win. It’s all a choice.

    You’re pretty right, T.

I guess my point is if you live your life as well as you can, then there are no winners or losers, just people and their respective lives. We live, we learn, we act differently or the same. We go on, or not, but we live until our time is up.

If you are focused on winning, sometimes you forget about everything else around you. If you are pitying yourself on “losing” something or someone, then, again, you lose focus on the things around you. I guess my comment was a suggestion to live with eyes wide open, just not explained enough for some, I guess.

    Either way, peace.

Well then, I stand corrected. Context is everything with email and writing; brevity is king, but context is everything. I only had to go on, with what precisely which you said. Now that the words expanded to the actual meaning of the briefer discript, I couldn’t agree more. Thanks for explaining. In review, I see I purposely ignored the “beat the terrorists/Sara” line as dramatic poetic license, but…that def needs some reframing…..nothing/no one to beat…

Love is what we all want, and it’s never won… It’s shared, not given.

It’s a bit like respect, it’s “earned”… from a gazillion little things strung along in a context….comes out as best described as character…

We get what we put out, but never in some exacting time scheduled way.

Just gotta chin up and be grateful when things suck. Make a stand, draw a line in the sand, and make yesterday, yesterday.

    peace out chillscouts

Nope, he was right the first time. Damn those lotto winners! And I think the very fact that they aren’t giving me their winnings is letting the terrorists win.
But Dude its a new year soon, so you are on the right path.

DQM, I definitely got it, and you’re absolutely right. I didn’t mean “winning” or “losing” literally, I was just trying to say, in a funny way, that I really need to make changes.

To me life is all about what you make of it. You can’t change other people, only yourself. So if you are unhappy about where you are or about how people are treating you, or what happens to you, the only thing you can really do is take control of your own life and turn things for the better, or enjoy the good things more and worry less about the bad things. No matter what happens, every day is only as good as you make it. Even a stinking, rotten day can have a silver lining if you care to see it. Similarly, even the most gorgeous and great day can be turned into misery if you prefer to focus on what’s wrong rather than what’s right about that day. So wise up and enjoy 😉
