What to write?

Category: Life

What to write? I don’t know. I used to have things to say, or maybe I just had things that I felt were worth saying. Maybe I just have no one left to give any words, and it’s all just too much loss to bear. I mean, yes, we writers like putting everything on a big stage, put it all out for anyone to read. Though, we often do it for just one person. We want this person to read our words, know our souls, and love us for it.

What’s the point without that person?

What if that one person is you? What we write, while often written with others in mind, is really just for us. If others see it and somehow connects, then we’ve got something!
Hell, if there’s something you want to express to someone, writing it here is probably the best way. Even if they never see it, at the very least it will help you work out exactly what’s going on in your heart & mind, and whether you are ever able to express it to them, you will have some clarity and hopefully a bit of peace.
Everyone has something to say, but our worries and fears tend to censor us more than any external factor. That’s The beauty of the blog format – the freedom to cut loose, regardless of what anyone (ourselves included) thinks.

Michael, reverse your thinking here for a moment and imagine the rest of us who enjoy reading your posts. Write and express your thoughts for us. It is often therapeutic for us to let our guard down and to realize we are all longing for that special bond and acceptance from that special someone or something. To realize we are all not that different from each other. For some of us it may be acceptance and love from God or whatever higher power you subscribe to. We long to know that our thoughts or prayers are being heard but never get that direct feedback that they are.

Josh, your statement that “Everyone has something to say, but our worries and fears tend to censor us more than any external factor” is amazing and so true. I have never heard that exact saying but it speaks so profoundly to me. Thank you for that!

John – it’s something I think about a lot… Probably too much, haha!
