Up at 5
T have to get up at 5 am, for my trach change. I won’t bother trying to sleep, so I’ll post this, then write something better.
2 commentsNovember: Slow start
November’s started slowly. My trach’s really bothering me, I get a fresh one Monday. It’s just hard to focus on writing, I’m uncomfortable, not sleeping much, or well.
I’m really very melancholy, but not the kind that turns out compelling prose.
I’m just tired, lonely.

We’re off with a fucking bang!
4 commentsHalloween and crazy vows
So, the pumpkins are carved, scary movies watched, October posts made.
Now, I’m going to make my most crazy vow, my final vow of 2013.
I’m going to post every single day, straight through to my birthday, December 31st. After that, who knows?

Take that, technology!
So, for some reason WordPress 3.7.1 wasn’t getting pushed to my server. I e-mailed GoDaddy, I kept trying fixes, waiting for GoDaddy to tell me something useful. I kept hoping for the issue to just magically fix itself. I got nothing. I hate when something doesn’t work, I hate not having the latest version of… whatever. I’ve said before, I’m weird. It was this weirdness that drove me toward the deranged manual update!
The manual update always felt like it could be the thing that could potentially destroy the blog. You’re moving files, deleting files, if you do it wrong, your little five-year long live memoir is fucked. However, if you’re reading this post, I’m happily running WordPress 3.7.1, nothing’s fucked, and the blog continues.
Let’s see…

1 commentWaiting…
So, I’m a nerd and I’m waiting on WordPress 3.7.1, as 3.7 has a bug that I really don’t like. It doesn’t affect me on a daily, or even a weekly basis, but just knowing it’s there bothers me. I like anything, “thing,” that’s mine to be basically, perfect. If my iPod Touch gets dinged up, even just cosmetically, I need a new one. All my wall art, hand-picked, never crooked. My computer’s desktop is clean, my OS, my apps, all up-to-date.
Maybe I just need to control what I can control because I lack control over so much else. Who knows? I don’t know. This is just me.

Not a whole lot to talk about, nothing I feel like writing anywho. Last day of the Florida Democratic Convention, got to meet Florida’s next Democratic candidate for Governor, Nan Rich. She supports disability issues, for which I support her, but who knows if she has a chance. The political landscape is just disturbing.
That’s about it.

So, I spent today in Orlando, at the Florida Democratic Convention. It wasn’t as exciting as one would hope. I hate to say it, but our party in Florida isn’t too inspiring, and that has to change if we want our state back from the Tea Party in 2014.
That said, I do have a lot of faith in, and respect for, one of our Congresswomen, Debbie Wasserman Shultz. She’s really impressive, very smart, very articulate, and as we were walking down this random hallway… there she was, signing her book!
Aside from the photo, I got to tell her, “You’re brilliant on Maddow!”
Politics can be fun too, it doesn’t always have to fill me with abject hatred!
1 commentNow running: WordPress 3.7
So, in a flurry of unexpected activity, we are now running WordPress 3.7. Another successful upgrade, the blog was not destroyed!
I don’t really know what’s new, but I also feel like none of the features that I use are broken. Yay!
