Explaining the tattoos
So, I’ve done a pretty sorry job of explaining some of my more recent tattoos, which really goes against everything I’ve meant to do here.
I’ll re-visit the ones that need it.

Wow. Just wow. I got to your site from reading Salty Droid’s old blogs. You are clearly talented, intelligent and deeply, deeply honest.
Your writings are thought-provoking, openly naked, brutally heart-wrenching and refreshingly honest.
I was curious about your site because my mom had ALS, and while it is a disease that typically starts later in life, it has a similarity with SMA, being the gradual degeneration of motor neurons.
Your writings reveal a very brave and introspective guy. Good on you!
I hope you accomplish everything on your To-Do list – especially the one about spending a night on a beach with someone you love. Sounds like you’ve had some pretty intense heartbreaks.
Good luck to you Michael Phillips!
Have any of your recent tattoos been inspired by shifts society has undergone external to your experience that you have subsequently processed, or are they essentially more directly subjective?
In some ways, I feel like we’re on the cusp of a number of substantial changes as a country (e.g the public outcry over Troy Davis’ execution) and a global community (e.g. the possibility of a Palestinian state being recognized in the near future by the UN). I guess I figured that if I had rocked out as many tattoos as you recently, it might be possible that one or two would be inspired by events on that order and not just the way you may have felt about a personal experience. In that case, I’m really curious how you may have processed the matter through tattoos.
Probably a terrible example, but I only recently learned how it apparently became fashionable for sailors who had survived passage across the Atlantic back in the day to get an anchor tattoo. This was obviously related to their experience in that they survived the journey, but it was also related to dramatic shifts in society, i.e. peril notwithstanding, technology had grown sufficiently precise for humanity to frequently attempt to sail all the way across a freaking ocean. Hope this question makes sense!
So do it! 😛
I had a dream about you and your mother last night. I miss you guys!!
you dont have to explain shit to me homie….

You’ve been quiet on the internet for a few weeks. Are you ok?
Thinking about you. I hope all is well.
I agree with Colt. Unless you want to explain.
The people want more writing! Give the people what they want before they occupy your blog.
hi, i hope you’re well.
