I’m tired, kind of down. I went to a movie and freaked out, heart pounding, struggling to breathe. I calmed myself down, but that sort of thing hasn’t happened since… pre-2005.
Michael, I can understand why you’d be feeling uneasy after an experience like that. What you described are symptoms of a panic attack ( goo.gl/hP5rSq ), so maybe that’s what happened to you. You should talk to your doctor about it.
From webmd.com: “Fortunately, panic disorder is a treatable condition. Psychotherapy and medications have both been used, either singly or in combination, for successful treatment.” (Since I’m a professional fence contractor, I’ll be glad to provide the psychotherapy, but you’ll have to get the meds somewhere else).
I hope you’re feeling a lot better, and calmer, since you posted this. Remember, God is holding you in the palm of His hand (Isaiah 41:10). Be well, my friend.
