Not today

Category: Life

So, today’s not a writing day. Mainly, the little plastic tube in my throat has been really uncomfortable, just very irritating to my throat. When this happens, I can’t focus on anything else. This has really been an issue the last few months, and years ago I used to write about it, but I stopped. I just figured, what’s the point? It’s bad often enough, we’re always trying new tubes because as the trachea changes, the tubes just quit being comfortable. It’s just, I don’t know, whatever, who cares?

I care. I’m fine with listening to you about things you’re having problems with, even if you think you’re being boring. Sometimes telling someone about a bad day I’ve had makes me feel better.

That sucks Michael. I hope you find some comfort soon.

I had sinus surgery a few years back and when I woke up in the recovery room it was waking up to sheer panic because I couldn’t breathe! The tube they had used during surgery so irritated my throat that it felt as though it was swollen shut. Absolutely horrible. I am sorry anyone would have to experience anything remotely like that. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it gets better soon.

I care, too! I hope that you find some relief soon. I am a chronic pain patient & recently found a homeopathic med that REALLY works & is over the counter. It’s called Cobraxin (made with small amounts of Cobra venom. It comes in an oral spray & a topical cream. I use the spray- the studies say that it’s stronger than morphine without the side effects and is safe. I hope this info helps!

I disagree with your title, Michael. This may not be the kind of writing you intended to do today, however, you gave us all something really profound to think about. Today’s post was awesome and thought-provoking. Thank you for sharing such an intimate detail of your daily life.

I agree with Maria. Your post made me think about how we all think we have to put on a mask and say something profound or funny, to act like nothing’s wrong. Those pretenses are what really separate us; I think that’s the real cause of loneliness. The old express is that “misery loves company” and people think it’s a mean thing. I think it’s more that misery needs company. I am rambling. We all suffer and, too often, in silence, behind a mask. The post you wrote was more affecting than you know.
